Okay so i've been sick for a week. the doctor is totaly stumped at what is wrong.. but here are some of my symptoms: headaches, dizziness, nose bleeds, achiness, just NOT feeling good, no energy, very tired, when i think of food i feel like i'm going to throw up, but i've been eating pretty good. Yet i've lost three pounds in the past five days. My doctor has ran A LOT of tests but he can not find what it is. Originaly we thought mono. but that was negative my symptoms are not getting any better and i've now missed quite a bit of school. My liver enzymes are elevated. However, that may be from taking the tylenol which i'm now not allowed to take Everyone's stumped and so am i. I'm scared it might be some kind of std or something but everything below is fine . if you know what i mean? im scared andd . wanting to know if anyone has any idea what could be wrong ??

Just thought of something. I work at a college taking calls from teenagers not coming in and have been getting a lot calls from kids with similar symptoms. It could be viral. They report dizziness, feeling sick, headache, fever, achey joints, fluey feelings, migraine-type symptoms.

None of us are doctors, but you have had your blood tested, so maybe it is the machine not working rather than the oil. The dizziness and blurred vision needs to be checked immediately and I think you should call your doctor again right now. Have you had any scans done (ie head?. The reason I say that is because my partner works in a neuro unit and I know nothing but it is what I would naturally think of. Not because I know what you have.

There is no way that we lot can help you and I think you have to get to a hospital especially with the blurred vision. I think you should go right now.

Thinking what it could be is useless and there are not likely to be any medical specialists on this site with enough expertise to help. All we will do is probably scare you needlessly.

A friend of mine has just had a baby and it kept presenting with something like meningitis, bruises, dizziness, stiff neck etc, fever. IT was something very remote, a sort of clotting and metabolic disorder.

There must be a whole range of possibilities but I would say not to mess with blurred vision. Call your doctor and get to the hospital right away.

cd206 agony auntSee what the specialist says but don't worry because that's just more likely to make your symptoms worse than better. Don't rule out mono yet because it sounds a lot like that and it only shows up on a blood test for 48 hours when your condition is at its worst so it's quite likely it was that but you went to the doctor too early or too late. I don't know everything about the US medical system but I think you're allowed to ask for a second opinion. If you're fearing at STD then ask to be tested for them.... maybe theyre discounting you from those tests since you're young. If you've had unprotected sex you might have one so it's always worth having the tests to set your mind at rest and always use condoms in the future.

The next best thing to do is either admit yourself to the minor-cases department of the hospital for a check-up which will probably give you a long waiting time, OR go get another check up with another doctor. If one doctor doesn't help, then try a 2nd, 3rd, specialist, etc.
