During your teens, a lot of changes go on in your body, and this could just be one of them. But its always best to be checked out, to put your mind at rest :]

It could be your ovulation. This happens to some women. It's important to record everything that your body goes through on a calendar. I use MP for My Period, SP for Spotting and then I record how many days each thing lasts for. This will give you a good record of what is normal for your body, and it's useful if you need to speak with a Doctor about anything.

Rest assure that this is very common in most women especially at the beginning and the end of their period.
Sixteen is still a young age for you to understand why certain things are happening to your body. This of course, is natural and as time goes on you will learn more about the biological issues women are faced with and how to respond to them.
I would suggest that you monitor the situation and if you are still worried then talk to your doctor or a nurse at your local medical centre. Good Luck
