 Yes, it is illegal to use your girlfriends picture without her permission if she has it under copyright. Yes, the picture could easily surface again if you deleted it, that's what copy and paste were invented for. And they will easily be misused. I'd avoid doing this.

3)If you delete them, there's no saying that another person who's saved that picture has deleted it. It could be posted all over the net on many sites.

 It is not a wise move to upload the pictures. Potentially extremely harmful to your girlfriend. Even if your girlfriend has said, in writing, and with her witnesses present that she is willing to let you do this, that is not enough. Especially i f she is not fully aware of the big consequences, then she is putting herself at risk.

You did not mention how old she was when the photos were taken, so yes, depending on the laws in some countries you could be committing a crime.
There are so many negatives to this potentially very harmful action.
Within minutes of you uploading the pictures others are likely to upload the pictures to other sites. The more people will continue to take copies.
Pretty soon you are likely to find the pictures in some 'knock off' porn magazine.
And how would her parents or family feel if one person saw her pictures in a magazine.
Surely if you respect and cherish and value this girl then you will respect her privacy? You do not need to then 'show off' with 'look at me - look what i've got' actions - by displaying the pictures for others to ogle.
Surely if you really care then you want to keep this girl safe and securely supported and valued? Respect her honor and her privacy? That will not be achieved if one of her friends is looking through the internet and sees these pictures.
Putting up such pictures is not the act of a ''friend''. So are you her friend? Or something else?

reader, anonymous, writes (8 August 2011): First of all, do you have your girlfriends permission to use her image online? If you don't, seek her permission. I'm not sure about the laws in India so there is a possibility if she objects to you using her image and you still did it, you could be in trouble. Once you post pictures online they can be copied and shared by anyone and may be misused. Even if you later take down your pictures of her, any copies others have made will circulate around the net for ever! There will be nothing you can do about that and they could be digitally altered and used for all sorts of purposes. So bare that in mind and explain everything to her before you start posting her pictures.

 Oh, and YES, the pictures can and most likely will be misused, it is NOT safe. Anything that is online can be used for almost anything, you might even see the same pictures in a porn magazine next thing you know, or have them stolen by someone else who will pretend to be her. People do steal pictures!!!
Unless you have them copyrighted and enough money to track down everyone who mis-use the pictures you will have no control over what people use the pictures for. Once online you have given up your ownership of them. And other men will look at her and masturbate to the images. Do you want that?
Posting her pictures online would be just the same as you asking her to go naked in the street. It is humiliating.

It is illegal to post pictures online of anyone other than yourself. You should not do this against your girlfriend if you respect her the least. It's be a horrible thing of you to do. And yes, if they are online they are on there FOR EVER, and can be found again later.
Especially if you show her face!!!! You would ruin all her opportunities in life, she might not get a job, she might not get married, it could cause all sorts of trouble for her.
She gave you those pictures as a sign of trust, trust that you will NOT use them for anything other than to look at them yourself. If you publish them online you have abused that trust, as well as done something very bad towards her.
Be respectful and don't ever publish pictures like that online. Please. Have some self respect and don't be a bad person. Then ask your girlfriend about this and hear what she thinks of it.
If you have her permission, only then are you allowed to do it. She can sue you for money if you misuse the pictures (posting them online is a criminal offense).

Safe or misused? People would look at them, some might save the pics, some may masturbate, use them as their profiles.
Delete? It depends how long they were on the net and if anybody downloaded them.
If in doubt, do not go ahead.
