Is this just a good friendship? Or is she flirting?

A male United States age 22-25, *r. Anonomous writes:

Okay, I really don't know what to think about this, like at all. My best friend, let's just call her Katy, I've been crushing on. I think she may like me too, but I don't know exactly. A few nights ago, her and my other friend "Kelley" invited me over to Kelley's house to watch a few episodes of Friends. After the first episode, we all just started talking. I went and sat on the couch, and a few minutes later, Katy sat right next to me. So close, that we were touching. She then held my hand, I put my arm around her, and we just cuddled for a little while. Earlier than that she was talking about how she had a dream where I asked her if she wanted to go see her first horror movie with me. At the movie she got scared and I apparently comforted her. Is this just really good friendship, or really obvious flirting? I just can't tell.

janniepeg agony auntIt's flirting. If the dream was real it could mean she had been thinking of you a lot lately. It could be made up too. Either way it's a hint that you and her should watch a horror movie together. Friends don't cuddle. You have to make sure you both want the same thing so there is no misunderstanding. Asking where you stand can be awkward but it has to be done, hopefully in a sweet way.

A female reader, Fari United Kingdom +, writes (12 April 2015):

Fari agony auntHey OP

I think she likes you . There are the obvious signs: Cuddling, Skin touching, dreams where you asked her out... Its soo obvious that she likes you and would like to be a bit more than friends and she is trying to find out how you feel especially where she threw that dream at you. So if you feel the same way why dont you just tell her and to answer your question, there is interest there on both sides and yes she is flirting with you

Hope this helps!
