I know the most obvious answer is that I have a problem with my sinuses, but I'm not sure that is the case. The symptoms I am experiencing are not being able to swallow mucus and I feel I have a lot of it accumulated behind my palate and having a very bad odor in my throat and nose. My throat and nose swab test results came back negative. The reason I'm not sure this is a sinus problem is that I tried using the Neti Pot and it didn't have the slightest effect on my symptoms. Does anybody have any idea what might be causing this?

methesupergirl is verified as being by the original poster of the questionThank you everyone who answered. I know the best thing to do would be go see a doctor, and I will. The problem is that I have to wait at least one week for my appointment, and by that time my symptoms usually go away (but they always come back)and I feel silly going to the doctor when I feel perfectly healthy.

It sounds like it could be, but you'd be better off seeing a doctor. Only then will you be sure.
