Is this a normal kind of "fetish" if you could call it that...?

Question - (23 November 2009) 2 Answers - (Newest, 23 November 2009)
A female United States age 30-35, anonymous writes:

Hey everyone,

So, the other day my friend asked me what it was that women found attractive in men. He had asked me for specifics and so I gladly proceeded to list those men I found attractive, and for what reasons.

Upon completion, my friend and I happened upon a peculiar trend in my list. And so, it seems that I have an attraction to guys who have their faces hidden, like for instance biker helmets, military balaclavas, ski masks, dark hoods, etc. Of course, this is not to say that I don’t find the usual good hygiene, playful/funny personality and nice physique attractive. I enjoy seeing a man’s eyes, they reveal what's trully going on inside, as for the rest of his face I guess I simply prefer not knowing.

However,I’m afraid that I may have developed a fetish. What else could this be? Is it normal, temporary? How can I get it out of my system?

Thank you for reading and replying!

I don't think you have a fetish. A fetish is when you cannot achieve sexual satisfaction without a certain stimulus. Unless you only find men attractive if you can't see their face or can only reach orgasm if your partner is wearing a balaclava, this isn't a fetish - it's just something you like.

I'm with emily on this one - Everyone has varying tastes.

Why are you so against the fact that you like something?

It's not like you just can't bare to be near a guy who has a face... it's just a thing you like.

This is like you saying "I've found I prefer chocolate bars with nuts in... WHAT CAN I DO!!!???"

You have a bit of a thing for guys in disguise, I like men that do something practical for a living, my friend likes guys with shaved heads.

This really isn't a problem, it's just another bit of your personality.

Good Luck!! xx
