Carebear made a good point. The medication she mentions Ponstan, is an anti imflamotary type drug, so helps with the cramps. Its also been proven to reduce the heaviness of periods. So it might be an option for you if you didnt want to go on to the contraceptive pill. Im sure if you go along to your GP they can go through some options with you and you can see what works best.

You can pop along to your doctor and they can prescribe the contraceptive pill for you. This will make your periods noticably lighter, might not happen straight away but it will make a difference, you will become regular, and sometimes this can help with cramps aswell! If you cant get to your doctor, you could always pop along to a family planning clinic and the practioners there can help you. Also a good diet around the time of the month and a good excercise routine can also help to alleviate the heavyness and cramps. Also around this time try to avoid really hot baths, as this can sometimes make the flow seem heavier as it stops when in water but can then actually speed up when you get out later on. If you do go along to your docs, it might be worthwhile them checking to make sure your not aneamic as some women that have heavy periods do suffer from this and sometimes need a little iron supplement to help the bodys natural flow.

Maybe you could go to the doctors and ask for the pill. The pill can regulate you and calm ya periods down. The pill can also make your periods shorter
