Well, I think because you're under 16 the doctor needs your parents permission? I might be wrong here, I'm not sure. But as long as if your parents found out, they knew it was just for your periods, then hey, go for it. But make sure guys don't get the wrong impression if you tell them you're on the pill. That would be my only concern. But I would say that, yes, I know periods are a serious blow to women, but you've got to live with it. You're only you, it's natural, but you're coming into womanhood now and it's all a part of growing up. So try not to just shy away from it all. Good luck :]

God, I'd love a pill that stopped them. Lol. But unfortunately, there's nothing to stop your periods. Yep, periods are a massive blow for women all over the world, but hey, what can we do. You can buy magnet-y things that you clip to the side of your underwear when you're on your period and these can reduce pain and discomfort quite a lot though. They're about a tenner in Boots. Also, have you tried tampons? They are very suitable and comfy for when you're on your period and still want to keep active. I use them all the time now, because I found when I used pads, I rustled when I walked. Lol. Also, tampons prevent any 'leaks' and are more hygenic in a way. But the answer to your question.. Nope, there's nothing that can stop your periods. Hope the disappointment wears off in a while lol good luck :]

MissKin agony auntI know periods are a pain but you have to deal with them one way or another.

There are several things you could do.. but because of your age, and because it takes a couple more of your teenage years to really balance out your menstrual cycle, i don't know if they could be used with you.

A form of contraception - the progestegon-only pill (The POP pill) - stops ovulation and therefore is supposed to stop your periods completely for as long as you're taking it aswell as protect you from becoming pregnant of course. This is the same hormone used with the Implant available in the UK, but i'm really not sure this is suitable for you because of your age.

Other pills can be used to regulate your period so you know exactly when it's coming. Medication can be given to ease the uncomfortable feeling you get when doing activities when you're on your period. Some medications also do not work well for everyone and can lead to more harm than good.

I personally don't recommend trying to 'stop' your periods as things won't be any different when they 'come back' at sixteen or seventeen. Everyone has to deal with the pain and annoyances of periods i'm afraid.

Using tampons, instead of towels, may make things easier and more comfortable when being active too - it depends what sort of 'uncomfortable' you're referring to.

On all accounts, if you go to see your GP/family doctor you can ask any questions about this and tell them what's bothering you and what you want done. Whatever form of solution you go to you will need to go to your GP to discuss it first. Doctors are very professional regarding subjects like this but it always helps to see a female doctor. Don't do anything without consulting your doctor, or at least an adult/parent/guardian first.
