A male reader, anonymous, writes (11 March 2011):

You are most vulnerable to falling pregnant in the first couple of weeks off the pill. Is there a reason you haven't been able to purchase a pregnancy test from the chemist to confirm? Schedule a doctor's visit?

girlwhoneedshelp agony auntIf there was one week break between when you stopped taking it and when you started taking it again then you are protected if you have alwas taken it regularly and on time up until that point. If not then the risk of you becoming pregnant is higher but not obscelete. Women can try for years to have children and it doesnt always happen. Some it happens to the first time. Take a pregnancy test in a couple of weeks. Thats a sure way to know. You should continue taking the birth control pill if you are still having sex. This will not affect whether or not you are already pregnant.

By the way, what are you doing having sex without protection?
