writes: Hi!First off, I'd like to say that Im only asking for opinions and I want to know if im not overreacting!Ok, well my brother wrestles for the wrestling team and me being his sister, decides to take on wrestling stats so I would be at every single one of his matches... what a supportive sister, right ? =]Well I started last year, and coach was normal and acted like a decent coach. This year, he decides to take on an assistant coach, (father of one of the incoming freshmen) who is what you would consider a "dirty wrestler" , he knows all the dirty tricks and evil stuff (he used to wrestle in college)Well, this year, the nice coach changes his personality. He's tougher, meaner and dirtier too. I think its because he wants to please the dirty one cause he looks up to him, and that makes him real insecure right !? Weird.Nice coach now tells my brother that he "shouldnt drink or eat " so he can make wieght (which is ironic since he is a health teacher too!) and one time got me real mad cause he just looks at my bro and says gruffly" you dont need that!" when he was only eating a microsized piece of bagel! I was like woaaaah chill. Then okay, bad things started happening this year . One of our best wrestlers (ranked in state) "stole"an ipod from someone in the lockerroom. Athletic director got involved, saying whover stole the ipod should return it in a brown bag. The wrestler (lets call him T) immediatley regretted it (as soon as he got home, even before the AD got involved) and went and returned it to the kid and apologized ( the next day) Of course things got around and coach figured out it was T. The dirty Couch suggested kicking him out . AND THEY DO. I was pissed. Not only is T supposed to go to college for wrestling (hes a junior now) but HIS LIFE IS WRESTLING.He has no life other that that. Hes either wrestling or working out for wrestling. Seriously. T cried and cried and bawled his eyes out and went to the atthletic director to ask for a second chance. His season was over at 15-0. He has real potential and he was going to go to state for sure. Supposedly, T was allowed to come back his senior year, but he says hed rather move and start somewhere else cause he cant stand the coaches and this experience. He says its a "sore" subject...His mom wrote a letter to the school and such ; she mentioned how horrible the coach is and how he called a wrestler who didnt make weight a "c********r".... pardon my language !WHAT KIND OF COACH IS THAT ?!?!?! Supposedly he swears "all the time".My whole family agrees with me. ( i agree that what the mother did was kindof stupid but she was desperate, ya know ? )There are other wrestling who agree with T and feel for him, but mostly, all the other wrestlers dont care or side with the coach. WHY ? Cause they are afraid ! He intimidates them all....Its like a mafia.... dont agree with me , and ill get you back !I hate how my school actually finds the need to force/ drive off a kid to another school just so he can pursue his goal/passsion. I think a school should nurture a talent, not destroy it ! And the other thing is... kicking him off the team really doesnt send a message of "dont steal or you will be punished" its really sending off the message " if you steal an ipod, keep it!! dont give it back or admit to it or this will happen." mothers are telling their kids never to admit to things, always deny. Thats WRONG. I think even more so than " stealing " an ipod and returning it. He was extrememly stupid, yes. They shouldve made him not wrestle for a month. But to deny him a place on the team and regionals and sectionals where he was a gareenteed win... Thats SOOO BAD in my opinion. I want him out . What do you all think? And what should I do ?
