Is skipping breakfast going to make you gain weight?

if you dont eat your breakfast in the morning. is this helping a diet because your eating less or is it making it worse. Ive hurd not eating in the morning makes you gain weight

Please do not skip breakfast, it IS the most important meal of the day. You will ultimatly put on weight as your matobolism will slow down. The only way to lose weight sucessfully is by eating 3 or more balanced meals daily. If you skip breakfast you will only snack before lunch

Skipping breakfast does you no good what so ever but does not make you gain weight.

Clinically the reason it is reccommended we eat breakfast is because it kick starts our metabolism and so throughout the day we burn more calories as our bodies start breaking food down right from the start of the day. Skipping any meal often is not ideal as our bodies start to lay down fat as it does not know when to expect the next meal.

The best thing to do if you are looking at losing weight is to maintain a balanced diet, three meals a day with breakfast being the most important and try not to eat anything after 6pm at night as this is when your metabolism is slowing down and preparing for you to go to sleep.

I also advise only dieting when either advised by a doctor or when over the ideal wieght for your height

I Dont Lie agony auntSkipping breakfast doesnt make you gain weight in the act itself. It makes you go hungry, thus eating more during lunch becomes a temptation. You only gain weight quickly and jeopardise your diet when you skip breakfast and then eat a large portion of lunch. In fact, thats the exact strict eating regime sumo wrestlers adopt, except that they add alcohol with their food.

But its best not to skip breakfast. Its named the most important meal of the day for obvious reasons. Good luck.

Midge agony auntNot eating breakfast can make it more difficult to loose weight. Its got to do with the fact that you are starving your body, making it go into storage mode because you are not feeding it regularly.

Ensure that you eat breakfast when you are on diet. Even a fruit salad or something small. But make sure you do have breakfast!
