Is razorburn better than bush?

my bf says he prefers the shaved look, but my hair is kind of coarse and grows back fast. do guys think it's gross/uncomfortable feeling when a girl has pubic stubble? or do they think it looks gross if there's a rash/ingrown hairs/general irritation? because i pretty much have that all the time to some degree when i shave. i'm just wondering if a guy who prefers the shaved look would still prefer it with all this gross redness/razorburn that comes as a result of being shaved. cause personally if i were a guy i'd think the furriest bush would be preferable to this. i just don't know if guys see it differently.

i'm the original poster of the question - i just wanted to add that yes, i do use shaving cream. shaving gel, in fact... for sensitive skin, and it's supposed to minimize razorburn. yet it persists ha. i also try to use a totally new razor every time, but seeing as how my pubes start growing back like... the morning after i shave them, it would be impossible to use a new one every time without racking up a ridiculous razor bill. i've tried waxing before, but it seemed like even that didn't last long. definitely not the 2-3 weeks that everyone raves about, anyway. i've even tried plucking (sounds crazy, i know, but i just wanted to try it to see), and that lasts like one whole day before my stubble (albeit finer and less rough) starts growing back.

my boyfriend said when i started shaving that if i don't want to shave it's not a big deal, he'd just PREFER it totally shaved. but seriously, do you think he'd like the look of razorburn and ingrown hairs rather than neatly trimmed, non-irritated pubes?

What grown-up (supposedly) man would want his woman completely shaved? Thats sounds sick and pediphile in a sort of way. I agree with keeping it trimmed and clean down there, I even keep myself neatly trimmed, and even a bikini wax, but don't shave down there for no-one. 1st, it's gross, 2nd, it will get stubble fast, 3rd, you can get pimples or in-grown hairs and that would be even more unattractive (not to mention potentially painfull, or infected).

They also sell what is called Bikini Area shave GEL. My wife uses this all the time, and no bumps. She gets her's at WalMart.

I agree with the other post - try waxing. It lasts much longer than shaving and there is NO burning, rashes or ingrown hairs.

SirenaBlusera agony auntYou could always just trim it rather than shave it completely off.

Or, you could try waxing... it is painful but it lasts several weeks.

Well goodness.. are you using shaving cream? You won't get it back to the way it was when you were 10 so there will be stubble. But, I don't see why you have such bad irritation every time. Make sure your razor is fresh and not too blunt, and you are using shaving cream.

Ahh.. it's nice to answer a less depressing question.

Thanks!
