The Realist agony auntIt is way to over the top. You can't buy romance. Try thinking small scale where you have really put thought into making it unique to show that you care.

I beleive that the presentation is more important than what the gift is. If you go too big then it becomes a flashy way of showing off the money you have and not love. Try a bouquet of roses and write something sweet for her. Your time put into it shows that you care far more than the money you put into it.

A female reader, anonymous, writes (12 May 2011):

With the amount of money that will cost why don't you buy her a pretty charm bracelet. Or have a singing telegram come over with some flowers or something. A truck full of flower is romantic, but where in the heck is she going to put them?
