If you absolutely want to use vegetables or things that are not designed to be used for sexual play, put a CONDOM on it. That is the only safe way. I recommend you purchase a toy in a store instead, or use your fingers for starters.

Yes thats masturbation. Its normal, I have been masturbating since I was 10 years old.
Buy a vibrator on-line. Something like this (see link) is good to start off with. Hold it against your clitoris and practice with what makes you feel good. It can be quite noisy, so best do it when there aren't any other people in the house, or stifle the noise with a couple pillows between your legs.

Don't masterbate with anything that is not meant to go into the vaginal canal. Cucumbers, carrots, pens, markers, etc. There was a woman who masterbated with a carrot (she shaved it first) a piece of the carrot broke off while she was thrusting it inside of her, it pierced her vaginal wall and sent an embolism to her heart and it killed her.
Buy a sex toy(s) or use your fingers. Please DO NOT put anything in your vagina that isn't meant to go in there. The carrot thing was on 1000 ways to die if you would like to look it up, that really happened.

Use a toy instead of a rolled towel (friction/burn over time is owie) or your own fingers after you have washed them.
It's extremely normal to masterbate, especially during teen years, that's when your body is going through the most hormonal changes and you're learning how to deal with all of that.
Masterbation is normal. Everyone masterbates, I don't care who you are. Unless you're that rare exception that doesn't have to masterbate.
You're normal, don't worry about it.

I think there is nothing wrong with learning your body and what stimulates you. It is an opportunity to know exactly the sensations you are expecting with a partner and your ability to guide your partner in getting you there. People are too hung up about expressing themselves and what they want, there is no time to waste faking orgasms etc. Know your body, what makes you feel good and waste less time waiting for a stranger to your body to give you the feeling you desire. Masturbation is for all young to old. We stop feeling only when we are dead.

Although I am no expert, I will say that these items have no "give," meaning they won't bend or flex when they come in contact with your vagina, which could do some damage if you're new to inserting things.
I'd recommend purchasing a sex toy instead of using these or at least using your own hand, washed.

Another women would answer this alot better than I. However, masturbating is in no way wrong. Its your choice to do it, many people do it. Its not wrong to do it as a teenager, that is when it is most popular actually. Because teen's hormones are going crazy, and they crave sexual feelings.
To make it feel better, try using your hand and find what feels best to you.

Humping a towel is a form of masturbation...but there are many different types. If you are going to continue to do this be careful, because irritation with set in if done to rapidly or roughly. Also, no there is nothing wrong with masterbation, many teens do it. When you go through puberty you will have a rush of hormones that would give you the want to feel some type of stimulation "down there" just be careful that's all, dont feel guilty many teens do it. To enhance your masterbation experience try and use things like markers, pens, or brush handles (They must be sterile and clean) Take your time and go through different sizes to see which on fits you best...If you are a newbie to this then start slowly and dont go to fast...find your medium. During masterbation I think about my boyfriend and if you dont have one you can think about a boy you may have a crush on, your favorite body parts on a boy, and somtimes just drift away and think about random things...you will be suprised at things your mind will come up with, Be careful...and Have fun!!Hope this helps =)

You can try a vibrator or some other toys but I have trouble "getting off". Its normal. Its healthy. As far as what to think of, its different for everyone. Try photos, music, movies, talk.... Anything try to take this time and understand your own sexuality. It really is time to be adventurous, try new things and get to understand your body and what turns you on. Trust me the more comfortable you become with sexuality will pay off later in life down the road because you will be able to know what is satisfying to you. If you don't want to go into an Adult shop then you can always shop online. They will ship discreetly (places such as adam and eve...just google it with the words adult toys and it should come up) Enjoy and have fun!
