When I go clubbing I often see alot of guys just by themselves and I see them the whole night, just standing by themselves, like as if they arent there with anyone. All of my friends are now in serious relationships, so they dont see any point in going clubbing. I am single however so would like to go, but am worried it would be weird going by myself. I guess im also a bit scared as it may be dangerous? Ive had some really scary guys try to make moves on me who wouldnt leave me alone and I was lucky enough that other random guys saw what was happening and came over to make it stop.

reader, anonymous, writes (22 September 2009): Nah its not weird, Ive been clubbing on my own all over the world, its deadly, best bet is to be careful and have a good time, as long as you like the music then dance, thats what your there for.

YES it is extremely dangerous even if you're trying to hook up with someone for one-night-stand. It is very unusual for a girl to go on her own. Try to go with friends of your friends?
How about inviting your friends to go to a nice pub with good music?

No, it's not weird. But it's not the safest option, especially for a female. You're always far safer if you're at least with a group. If there's a guy you like, you can always speak to him knowing that someone you know is there is you feel unsafe. Don't put yourself in a situation that might be dangerous. Best to go out with a group of your friends. x
