hey this is the OP, thanks for the answers guys!

People think im 17 so it wasn't really weird, but she changed her mind on me :/ so this doesn't apply right now, maybe in future.

I think sometimes people look at the age more than the actual couple so its weird, however if you see the couple more than the age, it could seem perfectly fine.

Meh. You are both legal. She's old enough to work, move out of home... clearly she's old enough to make the decision as to who she wishes to date or sleep with if it goes that path.

Just be prepared for it to not last as long as either of you might like. People change drastically from year to year, and who's to say you will both still be attracted to each other in a year or two. The statistics are against you on this one, I'm afraid.

But, having said that. You two love each other... then out with it, talk to her parents and make sure they no know you are not preying on their daughter. You met her and care very deeply about her. Also remind them that lawfully you are not doing ANYTHING wrong. You or your girlfriend.

Carpe Diem, my friend. Who knows, you two might be one of the few who make it to the very end.

I don't see why it would be wrong for you to hang out with someone 4 years younger than you. Just keep within the allowances of the law, respect her boundaries (goes without saying) and have fun.

I guess everyone is different, and it depends how mature the 16 year old is for their age and if the parents are ok with it.

I was 16 (back in the early 80s) when I met my first ever boyfriend who was also 20. We actually lasted 6 years!

Personally I think age is just a number - as long as you are both happy and treat each other well and don't pressure one another to do anything, I think it's fine. :) Hope this helps

Honeypie agony auntI don't really find it weird. Maturity wise you are about the same level. BUT..... experience wise you are not, so I do think you need to take it very very very slow if you DO want to date her and honestly, make sure her parents are OK with it.

The relationship would be a little "uneven" IMHO.

eyeswideopen agony auntIt wouldn't be something I'd would allow MY 16 year old daughter to do, best ask her parents first.
