This seems the same poster who asked, "Is it ok to have sex & orgasm when pregnant?"
For most pregnant women, unless otherwise advised by their medical professional, sex of all kinds including orgasms is fine with the possible exception of rough sex. In fact, it is believed, based on an Australian medical study, that a regular introduction of the father's semen, both orally and vaginally, is quite healthy for both mother and child. It has even been suggested that regular absorption of the father's sperm within the mother's body by either method may help prevent rejection of the placenta, and thereby possibly a miscarriage. So unless medically advised, although some doctors may also be clueless about such things, go for it.

I am sorry about your previous miscarriage. If you were advised not to have an *orgasm or sex* by your Doctor for the first trimester, then you should talk with your Doctor and get the "all clear/go ahead" from your Doctor as a precaution before resuming orgasms/sex (and that means asking about masturbation as well). After all, we aren't Doctors here and we don't know your medical condition either!
The reason why a Doctor would be cautious would be either deep penetration or that an orgasm might start "Braxton Hicks" contractions in case they lead to more. At the same time, Braxton Hicks are "practice" contractions for your womb, so they are nature's way of preparing you for delivery. Just ask ALL these questions to your OB/GYN and get their professional opinion in regards to your own health. Don't be shy, that's what they are there for and they have heard it all before, and more! ;^)! Congratulations on your pregnancy, BTW, and Good Luck!!! XXX

Once you've gotten into your 13th week you should be safe to have an orgasm (sexually or by self manipulation) unless otherwise advised by your doctor. During the first trimester an orgasm could cause problems, but once your beyond that the baby should actually be large enough to feel comforted by the rocking of sex as well as the vibrating of an orgasm, so sex (believe it or not) is not only pleasurable for you, but also for your baby!
