Ever since we've been seeing each other and it's the best relationship I could've asked for but people (particularly people related to both of us) seem to find it disgusting and wrong and make a big effort to let us know this. One of my family members was so disgusted he now talks to neither of us - is it really wrong?

Look. If you like someone and they are really awesome to be with, then go do it. If someone has a problem and refuses to talk to you now, then whatever. Explore this to the fullest.

A cousin's cousin, eh? I'm trying to do the math in my head, here...
Is there any blood relation at all?
Regardless, if you're both happy.. In the end that's all that really matters, right? If you can survive with some family disapproval (and let's face it, NO relationship is EVER fully sanctioned by your entire family. I know my family has never liked any of the girls i've brought home!) then i say power to you and your happiness..
