Hello :).

Alright so here's the deal. I'm wondering if you can be attracted ("only") to a person whom names starts with a certain letter.

When I was around 9-10 I had a "relationship" with a girl which name started with the letter "E" (It only lasted like a week or two XD ). When I grew more "mature" and reached the age 14 I started really liking this other girl which names ALSO started with the latter "E". A year later I (almost) "hooked" up with ANOTHER girl which name started with the letter "E". Now I just started high school and I go to the same high school as my older sister (her last year) and she has this friend who's a year older than me which I really find attracted and "ironically" her name started with "E". Then there is this girl in my new class which I also kinda like which (again) names started with the letter "E".

So what I'm asking you helpfull, cute, awesome people is; Can you be attracted ("only") to a person whom names starts with a certain letter?

I thought it was just me o.O

I seem to be attracted to D names.

I've been attracted to/dated 4 Dans, 2 Davids, 2 Dylans, 1 Danielle, 2 Dannys, 2 Devons, and 1 Duncan.

There have been a few that don't fit in that long list, but for the most part they all start with D…

it's weird because I've been married twice and both my husband's name has started with the letter "S" also I've had multiple boyfriends with names that started with the letter "S" and it seems that I'm particularly attracted to the name Stephen and my dads name is Stephen so I don't know its weird it's definitely a phenomenon thats real because it's totally a big part of my relationship history I guess you could say that oh yeah its weird but it definitely does exist!

Thank you all for your replies.

The girl I was together with then I Was 9-10 was Swedish and girl in my new class is Swedish. The second girl was from Bosnia, my sisters friend is from Bangladesh and the girl I ALMOST "hooked" up with was from Kurdistan. None of those has the same name,either....So I don't really know XD.

Again. Thank you all for your replies :D

I've thought about this too before. Through out my whole life I've always have tended to be attracted /date/ get in a relationship with guys whose names have started with J. Sure there have been few deviations but I would say 85% or so were Js. I've always though it was weird.

And to answer to the other comment, I don't think its a country thing. I'm from Russia have lived all over East coast of US and have dated guys from many different cultures ( Spanish, American, Turkish, Nigerian, French etc)

olderthandirt agony auntThere are 26 letters in the English Alphabet why not try all 26 first then settle in on one letter or another? We have friends that have been married a long time each of their names begin with the same letter and their two kids have names that begin with the same letters...It's weierd and strange to all that know them. I mean be creative for crying out loud. The ONLY advantage is the towels can all have the same monogram. boring.

I don't know, maybe. I know here in the US when I was growing up J was the big first lett of a lot of names. It seemed that everyone had a first name starting with J and then there was me with an R name.... so I felt left out. (Silly, I know.)

So it is possible that E names are popular in your age group.

However, I wouldn't totally dismiss the idea. Maybe there is just something you like about names that start with E, but don't let that be a hinderance to you finding a girlfriend. Nice girls come with names starting with all letters of the alphabet.

umm no... lol

names have nothing to do with anything. it's just conincednce. like for me, most of the guys I've been with have started with a B, almost everyone. but it's just coincidence.

A female reader, CindyCares Italy +, writes (2 September 2011):

CindyCares agony aunt I don't think so:). Probably in your country names starting with E are rather common.

If you were in Italy you'd say, "weird ! I keep being attracted to women with Maria in their name " . But it happens that maybe 30 percent of Italian women are called Maria-something : Maria Pia, Maria Rosa, Anna Maria, etc.etc.
