 I agree with CaringGuy; I think you should be very leery of those chat rooms. Use extreme caution with someone you met over the internet... don't trust anyone. Don't ever give out personal information such as your real name, phone number, addresse, or places you frequent. It's really sad but there are loads of predators lurking in cyberspace. It's kind of like shark-infested waters out there. The internet is a potentially wonderful thing and and inextricable part of our lives. You can't avoid the internet but you can use extreme caution to avoid becoming the victim of one of these online predators... just like there are precautions you can take to avoid a shark attack.
I see you live in the UK; I'm not sure what the situation is there, but I know that in the USA there have been a lot of "sting" operations lately where police detectives went online and pretended to be 13 year old girls and were solicited for sex by online predators.

I'd say that it's unsafe. You live in the UK, so you will be aware that lately there have been cases where young women have been put in danger by men in these sites. I would steer clear for your own safety.
