Ok this isn't really a problem but I just wanted some advice from the gals out there. Is it normal to get really itchy after shaving 'down there' or is it just me? In which case should I use a hair removal cream instead? I could really do with some advice on this and if anyone knows any good products, that would be really helpful too! Thanks :)

You need to use baby powder or any slightly strong powder after shaving. It will make the itching go away. I'm talking from experience.

Yes. It is normal to experience some shaving irritation from bumps and redness. I usually use a serum to help with the irritation. Please message me if you want to know some more, if not you can check out the product i use. prince reigns or www.princereigns.com .. ive been using it for a few years know and it seems to work great.

niki20 agony auntomg your not alone lol. i have the same problem. i use non scented lotion were it really itches. it helps jist dont put it anywere near your vagina.use shave cream not body scrub or anything as usually the cream protects against irriataion and bumps. use the sensitive cream as it has aloe and will reduce that icky itching :)

Yeah I get really itchy on my bikini line after shaving it. It goes away pretty quickly though. Then it gets really itchy again if I don't shave it for a few days because the hairs are growing back.

Yeah it does really whatever you do bit but using shaving cream, a new razor and savlon on the area afterwards can help.

Perfectly normal. Made my boyfriend shave his and now he wont stop moaning about it! lol.

Use baby powder afterwards, it helps stop rashes and ingrown hairs. Use hair conditioner or a conditioned moisturiser to help with the itching. And as long as you dont let it grow back it shouldnt itch too much, you'll get used to it.

A male reader, ArmyMedic United Kingdom +, writes (15 June 2009):

ArmyMedic agony auntYes it's normal and when hairs start to grow back no matter what you use it will itch a bit.

Hygiene is a must make sure you have a hot shower and use a new razor down there, there are plenty of sensitive pre-shave creams and foams on the market so find one of them.

Shave carefully rinsing your razor after every stroke, and when you are done rinse off with cool water (this closes your pours) pat dry with a clean towel, and wait for about an hour, then you can apply something like savalon or sudocreme, which are antiseptic creams, which will help prevent getting small infections and spots.

If it continues to be itchy after shaving just keep the area clean and use the creams I mentioned above.

(just remember that people can have reactions to certain medications so it will be worth making sure you are not allergic to any of the ingredients and if you have and doubt check with a doctor first)
