Is it normal to feel so sad over a celebrity passing away? I have actually, physically, cried that Anna Nicole Smith died =.(. I'm glued to the TV and am so upset on what a joke the media and stupid people have made of her death. Doesn't anyone understand the RIP? I'm so sad, is this normal? If not, why do i feel this way. I mean i have been a great fan of hers (tear)

forgetmenot agony auntI think it's normal enough. I felt a wave of sadness when Steve Irwin died. He was an amazing man and did incredible conservation work. The other thing was he always seemed just so, I dunno... invinsible. If this is your first experience with death it could be partly the fact that everybody dies that gets you. Or it could be that it reminds you of other deaths. And while I wasn't a fan of hers, the fact that someone with such a sassy personality that you respected will never breathe anoth breath or say another word and that no one will ever be the exact same as them ever again, is and of itself a very sad thought. I hope it doesn't get you down for too long though

I'm going to give a rather different view here (take it or leave it). It is sad that she passed away and I too felt sad when I saw it in the newspaper but I did not shed a tear. Probably because I wasn't a big fan of hers (not as in I didn't like her because I have nothing against her) but as in I just wasn't a fan. I'm not into that kind of thing.

Celebrities don't know you exist, they'd never shed a tear for you if you died. In my view tears should be shed for close friends and family members who you loved and who loved you back. Not on some celebrity who didn't even know you existed. Also usually when celebrities die they tend to get over rated and become more famous than they would've been if they were still alive (just an observation).

But I guess if you were a fan of hers then I can understand why you feel as you do now. Celebrity or no celebrity a death should be mourned and the deceased should be respected. You are normal for feeling sad about her death and for crying since you were a fan of hers.

Yes, it is understandable. I thought it was very sad when she died. How awful to have her possessions rifled through and stolen only a short time after her death. I thought she was so beautiful. The terrible saddness of loosing her son. That poor baby now hasn't got a mummy or uncle. I shed a tear too. You are not alone. I do understand.

Take care
