Hey, so this is more of a confusing self esteem question. It might be that I am over thinking or I really do have a problem. I have features that make me feel as if I were meant to be a boy,but I am a female. I have a vagina, but really small breast. I have facial hair and hair all over my body. I don't have an hour glass shape ,actually, I don't have a shape at all. I have a boxy figure and no hips. I am attracted to males so it's not a sexuality thing ,but I want to know is it normal to have so many male features? I see all these women with breast ,nice feminine features. It makes me feel really bad ,sad, depressed and mad. I get anxiety attacks and I hardly go out because I don't look like every other girl. Is there something wrong eith me? Is it a hormonal imbalance? Is there something I can do about it? Am I the only one? Thanks in advance!!!

The excess hair could indicate there is a hormonal imbalance. However, it could also just be genetics. This is more likely. I had my hormones tested many times, because I have the same problem. The results always came back just fine. Then I remembered my dad is REALLY hairy, and I kind of look like him through the face as well. He is also a bit overweight but doesn't have "man boobs". So his body doesn't store any fat what so ever in the chest region. Guess what? Neither does mine. I do have boobs but they are very small in comparison with the women around me. I'm 26 years old and have seen 14 year old girls with bigger noobs than mine. And if I gain weight, none ever goes to the chest.

You are NOT alone. Trust me. Even women who do fit the "ideal" feel insecure about something. Ask just about any woman and she'll have a list of things she'd like to change about herself.

Midnight Shadow agony auntYou're not the only one and it would be good to see your doctor because the hair issue could be a hormone imbalance.

When you're feeling you are in some way different, inadequate or just unsure of yourself you will see the features in others you think you're missing. We live on a society where women are bombarded with unattainable stereotypes of how a woman should look - in reality OF COURSE women are all different, we aren't all fitness models are bikini girls. Some women have hour glass figures, some are straight up and down; as for hair on your face lots of women have this but many have it bleached, waxed or lasered off so you wouldn't know they had it - but some women just accept it as part of who they are. I think there are more women than you realise who are unlike that stereotype but you're not noticing them because, as I said before, in the media we have a female stereotype and lots of women try and emulate this.

Don't worry about it, your shape is your shape - for years I tried to restrict my diet and exercise like mad to be how I thought I wanted to be. One day I just woke up and realised that it wasn't me who wanted to be that way, but it was how I thought I should be. If you're not happy with the facial hair a beautician can advise you on what's best, but it's not male features it's just that as people we are all different.

Some people really do feel born in the wrong body, this isn't unusual or strange. If you feel you should be a male (it doesn't matter what gender you are attracted to) then seek someone out to talk it through with, there are counsellors who specialise in helping you work out your feelings and whether you want to identify as a male rather than a woman.
