I thought I really liked him and vice versa. I can see now that in fact, it was just completely stupid. In all fairness, he didn't know I was under 16, but still - what did he see in someone who clearly was still in their teens? I think you need to think very carefully about this relationship - what do you have in common with him? Why does he want to go out with a 15 year old?

reader, anonymous, writes (31 May 2008): Under 16 is illegal in the UK and the man can go to jail. You need to check with someone else in you country for your particular laws and local norms and values.
On the whole the consensus would be that anything under 18 is abusive. (even in the UK where the age of consent is 16) Men that are older, should be with women of their own age.
At 15 your very young and have a whole lot of growing and a whole lot experiences to try out. With an older man it's difficult to see if he loves you or is using you because you don't have as much experience as an older woman. What will happen when you get older, will he leave you for another 15year old? Can you tell your friends and parents about this relationship? Does he keep you secret or is he proud of you and proud of being seen with you? Does he respect you, have you met his friends and family. Does he want to marry you when you are legal or are you a young peice of ass for him to deflower, take your virginity and move on.
How does he treat you (not what does he tell you). This will give you the answers to your question if your too frightened (bad sign) to ask.

It is not illegal but it could seem worrying - your'e parents may panic and ban you from seeing him - It is illegal however if you will have sexual relationships with him - my mum worried when I was dating a boy 2 years older than me - I ignored her requests when seh banned me from seeing him and I am now nearly 16 and he is now nearly 18 - if she knew I was doing this she would be in despair as he hurt me and abused me - just make sure he does not try to rape you or hit you - best of luck x

But... why do you think a man 30 years old would want to date a young girl such as yourself ? Most men who want to be with very young girls have issues, they are insecure, want to control her , they know they can't do this with an older woman , are Peter Pans and think staying with a young girl will make him just that ,, younger,, I would stay with someone your age, have fun , do teenage things and enjoy and embrace your teens once gone they never come back, being with an older man that old will force you to grow up in all ways,, don't do that to yourself,,
