writes: Hi agony's :) im looking for abit of help/advice on my job problem.ok so i live in the UK and ive recently acquired a christmas temp job. they needed certain ID from me, i gave them my birth certificat (the small one - the only one i have) and my national insurance number, now ive been working there for about four or five weeks now and friday is my pay day.....i would be happy but head office told my manager last week (after 3 weeks of waiting) that they hadnt accpeted my BC. now i dont think im going to get paid, the only reason my manager found out about the rejected BC is because she emailed them for my pay number (or soemthing like that).anyways ive ordered a new BC but its still not here (ive ordered the log version bacause thats apparently what tey need).im so worried i wont get paid, its less than month till christmas and i wont get paid next till christmas eve.can anyone tell me what i should do about this? is it ilegal for them not to pay me even though ive worked every weekend for the past five weeks?any help would be appreciated thankies :)

It is illegal for them not to pay you and I'm sure they will but the question is when. Anything to do with paper work will take time and things only slow down when it comes to this season. I would talk to your boss to find out what the company plans on doing about this but other then some sort of legal action which would take months I really don't know what there is to do.
Maybe you can borrow money from your parents, just keep track of how much you should get paid so you don't spend too much. That way you will have money for Christmas presents and don't have to worry about getting the money after Christmas or even when it's just too late to really do the shopping.
