I know that no-one's perfect, but I have lost a lot of friends lately because I can't stand people who stick their nose in my business. They try to manipulate me. Is it fair to eject people from your life who can't mind their own business?

I know a lot of people (some are relatives) who keep asking personal questions like...Why did you have a vasectomy? ...Why don't you want to have kids? ...Are you gay? ...Why don't you have a girlfriend? ...How much money do you have in the bank?

The questions just keep on coming and coming and it is really boring the shit out of me. Am I too sensitive? Should I tell them to get lost? Or should I allow these people to keep sticking their nose in?

Where do you draw the line?

dont eject them because later on in life u dont know which one of them will be able to help u out of a tough situation.... dont be mean to them, just avoid them 80% of the time. minimize contact with them but not completely.

i say eject anyone you want. really its your life . unless they contribute to your health or your money, they reall y arent neccesary. you are the only one who knows what you want. Do what best fits you and run your life the way you want to. I had trouble with the samething. parents and stuff are ok ( parents Of course lol ) but anyone i guess its really up to you. A female reader, anonymous, writes (29 September 2010):

Regarding "ejecting" someone from your life for not minding his or her own business, seems a little harsh. These people may be crossing the line of common courtesy, but if you believe that they mean well and actually care about you then casting them off entirely seems unwise. At least give these people an opportunity to remain as your friend. Perhaps they honestly don't know any better. Perhaps you have not made your feelings clear regarding your privacy. Some people have higher thresholds for privacy than others.

Tisha-1 agony auntIt would be easier if you learned to fend off the questions, rather than grow angry at people.

"Thanks for asking but I prefer to keep that private."

"Wow, you certainly have some questions, do you mind if I ask you some first?"

"Ah, you know I'm not one to discuss my personal life. Thanks for your concern but I'm going to stay private!"

Bruce, it would be helpful to people if you told them you had Asperger's Syndrome. That would help people understand how you might approach things.

Good luck!
