I had a baby 3 1/2 months ago. I had a very tough labor. I was induced, and it didn't work, but the hospital staff refused to break my water until the 2nd day I was there.

I had really bad nurses who seemed very inexperienced. I was in labor 40 hrs. Everything seemed to go very wrong.

I had a lot of pain when I was dialated to only 3. My dialation was moving along very slowly. I pushed for 2 1/2 hours. It was painful and the Dr, delivering me wasn't my OBGYN.

He didn't say 1 word the whole time he was delivering and he even nodded off to sleep a few times. I just found out I am pregnant again and I'm scared that I am going to go through this horrible experience again. Can women who have had more than 1 child please tell me, does child birth get easier and less painful the 2nd time? Thanks.

jessekk69 agony auntI know your going to hate me for telling you my experience, So sorry!!! any way my first labour was only 45mins long (yes the hole thing!)on only gas and air! when my son was 6months i fell pregnant again. i didnt think a labour could get any faster and everyone said it wasnt possible. WE WERE ALL VERY WRONG!! my second son was born in 15 mins with no gas and air, it was less painful and alot faster!! I'm now expecting my third and ive been adviced to have a home birth.I just want you to know it does get easier with each child. And now you have already been through it you know what to expect and you can do things differently which you didnt like last time. Also this is ment to be be a special experience for you so if know one is doing anything you like, SPEAK UP!!!!

Hope i've helped ! x

tadala agony auntI would ask around and find out a really good OB GYN and also hospital if it's possible. It sounds like your experience was only made worse by the poor treatment of the hospital staff. Good luck and congratulations!!!!

eyeswideopen agony auntI've had 3 natural childbirths. When I was having babies they didn't like to use epidurals or painkillers of any kind, you were supposed to "breathe" your way through it. What a crock! But anyway my 1st was a horribly long an painful delivery 48 hours from start to finish. I had my 2nd in about 6 hrs wit no where near the the pain, my third just about fell out. So relax it will go much smoother the second time baby #1 paved the road so to speak. Enjoy your baby they are so precious.

flower girl agony auntMost of us have bad experiences the first time round babe and thats partly due to the fact we are going into it blind, i found the second was a million times easier than the first, i was more in control as i kind of knew what to expect and it's you're pregnany and you're birth so if your are not happy with the level of care and help you are receiving then say something.

Good luck and i'm sure it will all be fine this time round.

Take care.xx.
