He is in his late 30s, married with 2 kids. I don't like him in a romantic way. I admire this teacher a lot for the way he teaches. He has taught me for half of my high school years. He has had such a great impact on my learning. I am one of his students that he still talks to after he has taught them.We get along really well outside of the classroom (still at school)- talk to each other a lot, laughing, smiling at what each other says. I feel that there is a strong student teacher bond between us. He has even admitted to me that he is happy that we get along with each other really well. He is one of the teachers at my school that I feel close to and trust. I graduate from school in 4 months. I want to keep in contact with him. What do I say and has anyone kept in contact with one of their teachers (how did it turn out)? Reply to this Question Share |

I am a firm believer when you have left school, you have left, the doors are closed forever and you cannot go back. While this may seem a little hard you must remember that as you leave school new students are coming in. Many teachers prefer not to be surrounded by ex-students as they are busy with the new (and old) students on their books. Therefore, let them be and move on. However, if you do see the teacher out and about and they aren't with anyone then a quick hello and a few minutes exchanging of words are acceptable.

I have a couple of teachers that I've kept in touch with since school. I don't see any harm in it. A good teacher is not very common, so I can completely understand why you would want to stay in touch. Emails are probably best. I'd avoid phone numbers because that may be too personal.
