He hasn't made a move on me physically yet, however we connect like crazy and have the most amazing conversation. We can sit in cafes drink tea and talk for hours without realizing how time passes. We have exchanged family stories and his father has said hello to me over the phone. I thought I was more into him because well he hasnt made a move on me yet, h/w recently he invited me as his date to a rather important formal summer dance at his fathers company.Oh we are both exchange students in a different country and he is painfully shy and somewhat reserved when it comes to displays of affection. He is lovely though, caring, remembers tiny details from our convos. He goes really red when we talk, his pupils huge. We went out on V Day but no one wished each other. He took me out on my b'day and paid. I think he considers me his girlfriend but is shy to ask. Are we going out? He asked me to the ball through a text :)

At first I was going to tell you that you have a really lovely GAY friend .... but then you said he's painfully shy, so that must be why he hasn't made a move on you for the past 60-80 days it sounds like you two have been hanging out. Right? I sure hope.
I was in a situation like this once and you know what I did, I just reached over and started touching his arm. He responded by threading his fingers between mine when I moved from lightly touching his arm to his hand. Then I had to lean in to kiss him, but really, after I did that, he was totally into it. He just needed me to take that first step.
Seriously, just do it. Just hold his hand. Kiss his cheek. For heaven's sake, just do something!! If you want something, you have to go for it.
