It really depends. I have dated older men, but it depends on his maturity and yours. Men tend to develop about 2 years behind women... this isnt all of them of course however that seems to be the norm. As pica said it depends on the stage in your life. Your obviously fresh out of high school, you may be in college and that stage is very importnant and all encompassing. Whereas a 26 year old may be out of school for some time and more career/family oriented. Just go on a date or two and see where it leads, ask him about his life and what he sees himself doing in the near future... if it fits what you want than so be it

A great expression I saw on this site was 'stage gap' - although the age difference is just a number, are you both are the same stage in your lives? Do you want to do the same things? There's no harm in going out with him and getting to know him - don't let the age put you off. You can find out by seeing him if you are compatible in other ways.

noooo!! it's a number, if you want to go out with him and know him better then yeah, do it :) have fun. alot of people have bigger age gaps, so i wouldnt worry, as long as you're comfortable.
