writes:I have a long distance friend who I like very much. He's very nice to me and we generally keep in touch by email. More like once a week or so. It's been 2 yrs since we met in a meeting and we haven't cut communication ever. He says he enjoys our friendship and communications, and when I call he says it's good to hear from friends like me. We are friends, that I know well. That I feel for him is different. I'm very shy but when it comes to him I grab courage to call him although I get all nervous. Do you think he might think I sound desperate if I call him when I can? I call b/c I have discount in calling. He's GI so him calling is difficult.

 Well, what are your intensions with him? By your question I can't tell if you wish just to remain friends or become more than friends. You need to make that choice first so there will not be mixed signals. Either way, you calling him in this situation is perfectly alright. But the frequency of the calls depends on your feelings. Get that straight with him and then things will move along normally.
