A female reader, Dorothy Dix Australia +, writes (22 November 2012):

Hi. One thing you do need to think about very seriously, is to be very sure that the path you are on now, is the right one.

And by that I mean, you do need to feel inspired by the study you are doing, and to honestly believe that it is what you really want to be doing in the future.

Often when a person begins some tertiary education, they believe it's going to take them to where they want to be in future, and yet somewhere along the way, they begin to have doubts as to whether they really are on the right path after all.

And if by chance you are having any such doubts, well then using inspirational phrases is NOT going to change your mind about it no matter how hard you try.

So what I am really saying here, is that you do need to be sure you are very happy with what you are currently doing.

The moment any doubts about it begin, that is a time to stop and regroup and have a rethink about it.

If you are having no doubts whatsoever, well then that's great.

If on the other hand, you do have some nagging doubts from time to time, well then you need to stop and listen to what those doubtful thoughts are - rather than ignore them altogether and keep on with what you are doing.

Whenever there are doubts - even tiny little ones - it is something that needs to be considered.

Especially the longer those doubts continue on for.

Any doubts is a cause for concern.

And the reason I am saying this at all, is that things happen for a reason.

Even if you don't necessarily have any doubts during your waking hours, sometimes you can have dreams that place a question mark above what you are doing, which then in turn causes you to have some conscious thought about it once you are awake, and look into it further, to see what those dreams are trying to tell you.

And because you have said here that you feel you need something to make you study harder for these final exams, it makes me wonder if your heart is fully in it.

And by that, I mean - "Are you passionate about the training you have been doing?"

Are you "fired up" about it and really excited about a future in this field?

If you are NOT passionate about it, well then WHY are you not passionate about it?

It would seem that if your heart was truly in this, you wouldn't need any inspiration except your own excitement and your own passion about where it will take you in future, once you have graduated.

So what I am saying here, is to look at the bigger picture now, and where you see yourself in another 6 months or 2 years down the track, as a result of your graduation in this training?

Have you thought about that yet?

In any case, whatever your training has been, no matter what you decide to do after that, you will be able to apply it accordingly, to fit the field you end up working in.

Those skills will be fully transferrable, most definitely.

And you will use them to full advantage, I am sure.

So_Very_Confused agony auntare your grades important for a scholarship or loan?

will you have to pay your parents back if you fail?

that would motivate me way more than some silly affirmations or motivational saying. maybe it's the way i see the world but I don't find them helpful at all and I think they are a smoke screen.

Instead of spending time making sayings to hang around your room (seems a bit of a time and resource waster to be honest) just set a schedule with lots of rewards...

for example:

I have to study... if i study for an hour without goofing off I can take a 15 minute facebook and coffee break...

A female reader, Dorothy Dix Australia +, writes (20 November 2012):

Hi there. Here are a couple I can think of straight away.

"Never give up on your dreams."

"I am the master of my own destiny."

"My life can be whatever I want it to be."

"I am in the driver's seat."

Another idea is to do a search on Google for - "Inspirational Phrases".

You will find many many more there and you could print them off.

Make sure you get a really good night's sleep the night before each exam, so you can think more clearly on the day.

Also, going for a long relaxing walk will also help you clear your head, destress and sleep well.

Best wishes for your final exams.
