writes:okay well i had braces for 18months now, and am getting them taken off next week. Im a bit woried tho that i might have lots of stains on my teeth from where the braces were/weren't. so i was wondering if anyone had any tips on how to whiten my teeth and remove stains cheaply. all would be muchly appriceated thanks xx

 lucky you. I want braces. My sis has a couple of friends with braces. Unless you smoke there shouldn't be stains

 I also had braces and I didn't have any stains. Just make sure you clean your teeth at least twice a day and they should be fine :)

 Hi, if that does happen to you then you can get your teeth polished. Also ask your dentist to recommend a toothpaste that would help whiten your teeth.Take Care

reader, anonymous, writes (28 August 2007): Don't worry about it, when I had my braces removed I was worried about the same thing and I was so shocked at how clean they were! I don't know about you but having braces made me really really aware of dental hygene so I cleaned my teeth so thoroughly that when I got them off my teeth were really really clean. The Dentist will probably polish your teeth when he takes off your braces so that gets rid of some marks too. xxx

 I had braces for 4 years. No stains. Don't worry, girl. :)
Just wait till they're off. Your teeth don't change color that much, unless you smoke a couple packs a day and drink only coffee and tea.
