 Yes, pointy nipples are totally normal. Nipples come in many different shapes , sizes and colours and "pointy" is one among them, and not uncommon too.
As for " attractive ", I would not know, I never had occasion gave any thought to this issue :). But I don't have the feeling that men are particularly finicky about nipples , I guess they sort of approve all of them :)

 OP, Google "nipple gallery" and "vagina gallery". You'll see pictures of body parts that are all different sizes, shapes, colours, etc. and know they are all normal.

They vary in size, color and "pointy-ness". YOU have nipples because they are part of the biological system that helps feed your offspring. So they have a FUNCTION, it's not about HOW they look.
Do I, personally, think ANYONE gives a flying fart about the shape of a nipple? NO.
Does the shape you describe sound strange? Nope, sounds normal.
It it always looks like your nipples are poking out of your shirt and THAT makes you "uncomfortable" buy a sports-bra or normal bra with a little padding and no one can see your nipples when you are dressed.
