The affair ended when she meet somebody else, since I had not at the time said I would leave. I then decided to leave to create some space for myself while the person I was having the affair with was seeing somebody else. After two weeks of telling me how much she loved me (we had slept together), she got engaged to the other man. He has paid off all her debts and they are buying a house together ASAP. She says she is in love him, it hurts alot and I wondering why/how I am so replacable (I realise I am feeling the same emotions as my partner must have felt when I told her about the affair). I've cut all contact, although she has tried to contact me, I've not replied. I'm wondering how long it will take me to get over her and why I did it in the first place.

honestly, i cannot answer those two questions only you can. what i hope is your heart mends quickly and that you take into consideration the hearts around you next time! because if you hadn't started that affair, not only would you not have gotten hurt, but your partner wouldn't have gotten hurt either!
good luck, stay strong!
