reader, anonymous, writes (22 March 2010): I am very well spoken as well and when I was your age I used to try and 'downgrade' my voice a bit which was just stupid to try to make me fit in more. Now I am older I realise that men love a well spoken voice as they think they are dating a posh bird. Keep talking nicely and don't lower yourself for anyone. xx

Everybody does it, don't get freaked out. It's normal. You subconsciously try to sound your best when talking to someone of the opposite sex. Like I said, we all do it.
