 Unfortunately spying now, is called stalking. You have to really watch whats going on.
I'll have to say, when having these feelings, they usually are not wrong. Your second clue, is if she was not, what reason would she have to get defensive?
Its the same as when you know you're doing something wrong and you have that strong feeling its wrong, but the mind say "do it, go ahead, I dare you." So you do, and really wish you hadn't afterward. We all have three parts of being human, mind, body, spirit. Our spirit knows what our body wants to do, and our mind doesn't want too.
