it could be a fissure my boyfriend had the same problem the first doctor told him he had hemroids and the bleeding just didn't subside so he went to a professional and they were talking croans disease but its not as bad and the name for it is inflamitory bowel disease its a sister to croans he thought it was cancer and he got paranoid about it(seeing he is the paranoid type) and he asked the doctor if that's what it could be and the doctor laughed at him and said no way..
so huny i would just go to the doctor like you are going to and talk to them about it and they will figure it out... i don't belive it is cancer

You may have another bowel condition linked to food intolerance. Bowel cancer usually shows up old dark blood, not fresh. In any case it is the least likely thing, really I know as I have been throught all this myself when I was younger.

Its important that you also realise these symptoms could be many other things besides cancer. Bright red blood is not a sign of cancer ( dark old blood is ) don’t stress yourself it could be one of a dozen other things even plain old piles.

To be honest if it's that bad then you shouldn't be waiting till Monday.
Ring NHS Direct now and they may tell you to get to A and E or be able to get your doc to see you sooner.
Their number is 0845 4647 - I know it looks too short but it does work.
Don't torture yourself worrying, get yourself sorted out now.
Good Luck!! xx

First I must say that it's essential you keep your appointment with the doctor. Any sort of bleeding from the bowels needs medical examination and treatment.
Bowel cancer is very unlikely at your age. Mucus and bleeding with soft stools is most likely colitis, which needs treatment but is nothing to get panicky about. There are a number of other conditions that could cause it - like a polyp (non-cancerous growth) in the rectum which can often bleed as a result of bowel movement but is easily removed with very minor surgery.
So don't worry. It needs sorting out, but almost certainly it's not going to be anything to be really concerned about.
Let us know how it goes.

1. Eat lots of green vegetables as they will help relax your bowels so you can figure out whether this is constipation or something more serious. Perhaps try a fibre drink and cut out meat, carbs and fatty foods from your diet for a while.2. If you still see blood in your stools a few days from now, see a doctor.
