Hi!

I like surprising my boyfriend, as I love to show him just how much I love him, as well as saying it and more importantly. I enjoy the outcome of these special moments we have together!

However I'm running out of ideas now and want to hear some of your suggestions :)

What are the best ways to brighten up things and bring a smile to his face. Nice suggestions please, ones that will make him feel good or make him smile. Nice ones that will bring it home to him how much I think he is special.

I look forward to hearing them all!

A female reader, EccentricOrbit United Kingdom +, writes (28 May 2011):

EccentricOrbit agony auntI'm really sorry if these are of no help to you at all but I'll just charge ahead with them anyways :)

- Surprise him with a picnic. Take a blanket and pack some of his favourite snacks and the like. If it's not a nice day then do it indoors!

- Buy a pack of those glow in the dark stars and some blu-tac. Stick them to his ceiling, spelling out a message such as "I love you" or something personal to you both. When he turns the light off, it will be revealed and the blu-tac means it's not permanent. One of my boyfriends once did this for me it gave me something to smile about after a really hard day :)

- If he's working late or studying, send him a lunchbox with "[HIS NAME]'s Survival Kit". Pack his favourite foods and sweets to get him through the night - and perhaps an energy drink!

- Talk to his parents about things he used to love as a child or wanted but never got. If it's possible, buy one of these items and surprise him with. It'll have sentimental value to him and it will also indicate to him that you care about him enough to find these things out and talk to his family.

- Take plenty of pictures of the both of you together and him by himself. It's nice to have lots of memories and I'm sure he'll appreciate the fact that you want pictures of him and you.

- On a piece of paper, write a note saying "I thought of you today and it made me smile" or something along the lines of. Leave it somewhere where he's sure to find it.

- Plant a tree together.

- If he's passionate about a charity, make a donation to them or fundraise. Alternatively, if there isn't a specific charity, find one that relates to something he cares about. For instance, he may have been affected by cancer or a debilating illness at some time in his life. Find a charity suitable and do something for them. This way, it shows your boyfriend how much you care and you're also helping others out; always a bonus :P

- Make some "love coupons". Write down, or print off, some coupons he can give back to you in exchange for something like a massage or his favourite meal cooked by you...endless possibilities.

- Learn his favourite meal (this will essentially work in conjuction with the aforementioned "coupons").

- Take interest in his hobbies. If he likes sports and you don't, try and make an effort by watching a football match with him or brush yourself up on the rules of the game. This also means you won't look like a plonker if he and his mates are talking about it and you have no clue. Similarly, buy him tickets to a football match or a music concert.

That's all I have. If I come up with any more, I'll be sure to post them :)
