I REALLY don't want it to happen because it sounds so strange plus i won't really want to go swimming that much anymore. The best thing you can do is to get some books on it or search the internet for more information about periods.

If you're 16-17 and still haven't started, then you should go to the doctors. Everyone develops at different times, so just enjoy being a period free teenager for now, because once you start, you won't like it, trust me!!

If your scared coz you havent started yet, my mum didnt until she was 18! ask your mum or if you have any older sisters what age they started at because usually girls start around the same time as their mums did. there are plenty of things you can do for things like period pains like pills or just a hot water bottle. And theres loads of different pads/sanitary towels or tampons suited to differnt girls. One of the main things a girl worries about is starting in public or at school. But you need not worry about that either because when you first start its very light. I hope this has made you feel better :)

Every girl is different so dont worry too much about not starting your period yet. If you have still not started your period by the age of 18 then it is time to get a little worried but for now just be patient and it will come when it is ready.
As for the periods itself, they are nothing to be scared of. You will probably get some warning signs a few days before, like stomach cramps and tender breasts, and you may feel a little bloated. Some girls dont get any warning though, their periods just come right out of the blue! To avoid any accidents keep a sanitary towel or tampon in your bag/purse just in case, so if it does arrive without warning then you are prepared!
If you feel comfortable enough have a chat with your mum, she will be able to give you some good advice and reassure you better than we can on here.
I hope this helps!

Did you mean that you're worried because you haven't started yet? If you did, that's nothing to worry about hun. It varies hugely, some girls start very early, like 12 and for some girls it's as late as 18. It's nothing to worry about, everyones different :) x
