I'm now off the pill and it has changed my period. Any other woman experienced this?

I came off the pill at the very end of February and I had a period but I haven't had one since. I have taken a pregnancy test which was negative and I don't think I could be anyway because I haven't had sex much but when I did we used a condom. I came off the pill for an operation I had. Does anyone have any experiences of it being a long time until you get your 'normal' period again? any help is much appreciated :)

I'm on the same boat here. I was on it for 6 months and decided to take a month off (a stupid decision it was). 3 weeks after taking the last placebo I had a light bleeding for a few hours and then nothing. It's been 6 weeks now and still no period. I took an HPT last week and it was negative. I had sex but also used a condom. Now I am with heavy yellow-orange-ish flow and breast pain, top 2 symptoms of my PMS. So I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I'm getting back on the pill as soon as it comes.

I have read a lot about this because I'm sort of freaking out. Apparently it is post-pill amenorrhea and it is very common. Most women get their period 4-6 weeks after leaving the pill, but sometimes the hormones linger on a bit more so the brain doesn't realize it must start making you ovulate again. Some women have on and off periods for some time. It is recommended to see a doctor if you have not bled for 3 months.

I hope things will work out well for you. I know all the stress this can bring because I'm having the exact same problem.
