Teenage-Rebel agony auntIts okay to have irregular periods. For the first few years your periods may be irregular. Its just a discharge don't worry its normal. The cramps are normal aswell. Everyone has different symptoms ( eg. Sore head, cramps) Its all normal.

Don't Worry.

a_decent_1 agony auntWhat you are going through is juat a "Part of Life" ... !! Every girl goes through the same Period once in her life.. !! You are Changing, your body is changing and it would take it's toll on you.. !!

Skipping a period in the first few Months is Very normal, so DO NOT WORRY about it.. !! Cramps and the Pain is also a part of it.. !! Everyone has it..

If the pain is too much then you need to see a Doctor.. Some girls face much more pain and need to get checked... Although it is completely normal for some girls to face much more pain.. It's normally in the Family.. Ask your mom if she had this pain.. !!

That white stuff is "Vaginal Discharge" .. Another NORMAL thing to happen at this age.. !! There would be times when this Discharge would be MORE than normal.. and then, a few days there won't be any.. !!

You are becoming a BIG GIRL.. !! These changes are normal, so just CHILL .. !! Congratulations on becoming a Big Girl..

G'day

A female reader, jozzc United States +, writes (27 May 2008):

jozzc agony auntYou might want to check out to see if you have a candida infection-also known as-yeast infections. They now have tests out in the store, or if you look it up and are pretty sure, you can go to the store and buy a treatment. You will get immediate relief with some as they have medications in them not only to fight the yeast infection, but to alleviate pain and itching.

We women are very prone to yeast infections, especially if we have been on antibiotics. Yeast infections can cause cramps. Your irregular period is probably just a product of your age. The daily cramping and excess discharge is not. :)

A female reader, Tremor Australia +, writes (27 May 2008):

Tremor agony auntIt is very common to have irregular periods when you first start menstruating. You may go a couple of months without it, get cramping without having it, or you may get it twice in a month. It will take a year or two to even out.

The 'white gunk' you mentioned is most likely just vaginal discharge. It is pretty normal.

If it is yellow, very thick, or very stringy, then you may want to see a doctor, but from what you describe, I doubt you have anything to worry about.
