writes: Hi Cupiters! I am going to meet my boyfriend's parents this weekend! It's a dinner at his house. I was wondering should I bring the mom flowers, or is that too much? I just think it's polite. I mean I won't go as far as bringing a dish because I don't know them that well. But yeah, just wondering. We've been dating for over a month now!

I think that is a fantastic idea! I think not only is it polite but also customary to take flowers or bottle of wine when invited to dinner.

reader, anonymous, writes (25 February 2009): Why not? I usually bring a bottle of good wine (not too cheap, not overly expensive) for the father too, I always find out what we're going to have to eat first though, so that the wine will actually compliment the food.
Sharing a couple of glasses of wine with them, goes really well into taking the edge off meeting parents.

I don't think flowers are necessary, but always a nice thing to give. If you have only been together just over a month, I don't think you need to do anything to excessive.
