The problem is she does not have a high school diploma, she understands english, but has problems reciprocating what she wants to say. So she obviously has two obstacles in her way, the former being of greater concern. I don't want my mother working as a home attendant till she is 60, especially since she has bad arthritis, a health condition that is not curable, and depression from feeling worthless and degraded. Do any of you know what she can do without having to get her GRE, or going to a trade school?...any jobs that will give health benefits, without a diploma. I realize this type of job would be a dream come true for many, and I am sure this sort of thing is non-existent. Any comments, websites, similar experiences will be appreciated. Hi,
There must be other talents your mother has; organizational skills, is she good on the phone, or something of that sort? Is she bilingual? Maybe she could offer some kind of translation service or something.
I wouldn't let not having a GED in the way of her not trying to apply for something else. For mothers day, why don't you buy her a resume writing service and they can help her put a nice resume together.
Just my .02.
Good luck
