He doesn't love me back though, and I really don't know if I should wait on him or not, I could but if he's never going to love me what would be the point of wasting my whole life waiting? Even if he is my true love....

well i waited and i swear my situation was identical, we stayed up every night just talking on the phone, about anything and everything... i ended up wasting my time but the truth is if someone would have told me to leave it alone i would have made up an excuse to ignore them... your going to end up doing what you want in the end, good luck

 It sounds like you two are really good friends - stay that way for the time being, and if it just happens to turn into something special one day, then just go with the flow.
There's no way you can make someone fall in love with you, or even like you, so you'll have to wait and find out whether your feelings are reciprocated.
