writes: Well this isnt a relationship question. I just moved to a new city to study and I am so homesick. Its my first semester here and its almost getting over, but I just want to go back home now. Although I can't. My home is far away. My room-mates were initially nice to me, but suddenly, and I dont even know why, they go out without even inviting me. My room mate keeps to herself. She is from here so she has her family just a couple of hours away and her friends all around. I hate being in my room.I feel so isolated at times. I just need a comfort zone and I cant find one. The only thing Ican think of is home. Oh yes, and I am not dating currently, so that sucks.

Getting involved and signing up for college events and clubs is a great way to meet people...and the more people you meet, the more friends you make. I think most people find their first few months at college very tough and even though most people are feeling sad inside, they put on a brave face!!
Perhaps you can set up SKYPE on your computer so you can speak to your family often, but don't just sit in your room brooding...join everything, just throw yourself in the deep end and see ha floats.
Summer is coming so get plenty of fresh air and exercise...and get involved.
My daughter was very home sick in her first year of university and found it hard to connect with her roomies because they wern't the sort of people she gets on with, but she joined all the clubs and even got herself on the student council. In her second year she chose people she had made frinds with to be her roomies and it was a much happier year for her!!
Things will get easier, but be brave and put yourself out there.
Good Luck xxx
