If I am entitled to it legally, I want to negotiate with him to keep the house instead of selling it, I would give up my right to the inheritance. I just dont know the law, and you have to pay a lawyer just to ask a simple question in which i dont have the money.

Well, if he received the money while you two were married- I believe that most states see all income into the family as joint. But, don't most inheritance type monies come with stipulations regarding spouses? You definately should talk to a lawyer about it. One question that I have is why would you want to take an inheritance? Is it because you're angry? I'm not being judgemental, I'm just curious because you may also need to talk to a counselor to work out some other issues. I don't want anything of my ex-husbands-I'm just happy that he's an ex.

Why would you deserve his inheritance? Did he already get it? Another way to ask this question would be ....am I entitled to the money of my ex's family ? He's your ex, get your own money.
