Hey,

Ok I'm doing my leaving cert next year. I am finding it hard to manage. I work 8 hours every single saturday and sunday. When I am home, I have to cook the dinner and clean up the house.

My mum is always really tired from work, and I dont like her doing much around the house because then she'd get fustrated and even more tired and she'd even get angry. And when I say angry, I mean like shouting, screaming, throwing things, even hit me or my sister(but that only happens 2 out 6). She hasnt got angry in a few months, which is good.

I'am absolutly exhausted. I mean even doing my homework is a chore. I just cant find the time to do anything anymore. When I come home from work on the weekend at 5, most of the time I go to bed. I wouldnt get my dinner, though I do eat during the day of course as I love food. I' ve started drinking like 2-5 cups of coffee a day on the weekends. Or red bull, but mainly coffee.

I've been really sick a few times. Like the constant feeling like throwing up and eventually I would. No idea why, but its definitly not my period, though I do get sick because of that too. I know if I go to a doctor, they'll tell me I'm anaemic again and to start taking iron etc., but I already am.

So basicly, I dont know what to do! haha. Can anyone tell me what the best thing to do is?

Thanks a bunch, Heather

Another_Kapiti agony auntYou are way too young to be suffering this much stress! Why do you work both weekend days? Can your sister pick up some of the slack? What about your dad?

Drinking too many caffeinated drinks is only going to drain you more, stop drinking these and switch to water. If you are anaemic, this is only going to worsen the problem, maybe drink decaf or herbal tea instead.

Is there anyone else (perhaps a family member, auntie/cousin etc) who you can confide in? Make someone aware of the situation at home, can you speak to a guidence cousellor at school perhaps?
