A male United Kingdom age 30-35, anonymous writes:

Hello,

I posted recently about how to flirt with this girl who I will meet at freshers' week in university. So far we talk only by email, and we have not met.

I started being flirty with her and she thanked me and said I was being very sweet. Also, I have given her a "gift" - I came up with an original piece of music and dedicated to her. I hadn't a title for it, so I said I am dedicating to you and for you to come up with the title. She liked it and I edited the title and description and asked if she approved. I also said she had inspired me, which is true. She again said it was very sweet, and then she asked what she had done to inspire me. This is where it gets tricky. I was honest and said she hadn't done anything in particular. Oh I forgot to mention I made it clear she could have the music as a gift. Anyway, I'm a bit worried now that I've been too direct...

Now, the real question is, making a good impression when we meet. My appearance is the thing. Whilst I am well groomed and so forth and have an ok face, I am very overweight (which I am working on! lots of walking and eating healthier food). How can I make a good impression? Just be sweet and kind with her? Or is there more? Also, what more can I do to make her interested in me? Not necessarily in an attractiveness way, but in general?

Important to mention she is foreign, from one of the Baltic states. I don't yet know whether I really like her in that way, but I am becoming convinced I am and have dreamed of her several times...

A female reader, PsyCookie United States +, writes (27 August 2008):

PsyCookie agony auntI really think that you composing a song for her is extremely sweet and romantic and it may actually make her fall for you... or find you creepy.

But this girl sounds sweet, so I'll opt for the first one.

And I really think for agreat impression, you should just be yourself. By you compossing a song for her tells a lot from you, so just do it. You made a good impression here, so I'm pretty sure you'll make a great impression with her

Good luck and I hope she will be nice to you and that the two you have a great time!
