writes: hey.I'm 17 and go to college so am still in full education. i live in the UK and was wondering whether i can get prescriptions from my doctor for free. i want to enquire if i can possibly go on the pill so does anyone know if i will have to pay or not?...thanks..x

Hi I know that while I was at college and your age I got my prescriptions for free. Also if you are put on the pill these should be free from your doctor.

Nope. Your prescriptions are free until you're 18 if you're in full time education and free until you're 25 if you're lucky enough to live in Wales. Just to bear in mind for the future... if you continue studying after you're 18 ask for a HC2 form at your local chemist and you can get a certificate which gets you out of paying for prescriptions. Oh and one last thing, all contraceptives are free on presecription no matter how old you are.
